What is up with kids wanting to be older all the time? I’ve seen little kids say bad words on youtube, five year
old boys and girls grinding on each other at birthday parties, thirteen year old girls wearing practically nothing in public
trying to act older than they really are. Is America’s youth growing up to fast? From my perspective I believe that
they are.
Sometimes I catch myself wishing I was a kid again. The burden of not having a burden sounds so nice. I hear kids, my cousins
in particular, saying that they wish they were my age so that they could do whatever they want. Then I tell them that they’re
crazy and hand them a remote for the T.V. They usually turn it to Disney and watch something like The Suite Life or Hannah
Montana. I remember when the face of Disney was Mickey Mouse and when they showed cartoons on Nickelodeon. Now, when you mention
Disney to a person the first thing that may come to mind is Miley Cyrus or something High School Musical. And If you ask someone
what their favorite show on Nickelodeon is they’d probably say something like iCarly or Drake and Josh. Could it be
that since they aren’t showing cartoons on kid channels the kids are now looking up to figures like Hannah Montana instead
of Tommy Pickles? I was a huge Rugrats fan when I was a kid. I truly believe that this show has expanded my imagination and
creativity. I looked up to Tommy because he was the brave one of the group. He was the leader and cared for each of his friends.
He had traits that every person should have.
When analyzing someone like Miley Cyrus the only thing that I could admire is the fact that she’s famous for being
a mediocre actress which helped in her success in the music industry. She’s one of the reasons that America’s
youth is the way it is. Many young teenage girls look up to her so whatever she ends up doing other girls around the world
are going to end up thinking that what she is doing is good even if it’s actually something bad. I’m sure you
guys have heard about the pictures that she took and we leaked on the internet. In my opinion she is this generations Britney
Spears but she’s appealing to an even younger audience.
I wish that I could turn back time so that I could be a kid again just to relive the moments I had playing on the playground
and pretending I was the black power ranger.

Kids shouldn't be in a rush to become a grown up. They have no idea how lucky they are to be in the position they are in.
